The Housewife

Constantly we're told this is a man's world here,
Why do us women not stop to cheer?
For you males we have a story to be told,
This is also a woman's world.

How many professions does a woman have to do?
I am going to tell you about a few,
We have to do these twenty four, seven,
Only Allah knows if we'll go to heaven.

A human alarm clock getting you all out on time,
Everyone has to be gone by nine,
Taxi driver doing the work and school runs,
Then into cleaner when the runs are done.

Cleaner, bottle washer and launderette too,
Get these done for a clean life for you,
Window cleaner to let the sun shine in,
Dustbin woman emptying rubbish in the bin.

Back to taxi driver at the end of the day,
Childminder watching the children at play,
It's time for the chef preparing a dinner or two,
Then into waitress to serve it to you.

Then the bottle washer to clean dishes away,
Nearly the end of another day,
Off to bed with the children a storyteller i'm told,
Wrap up the children from harm and the cold.

Then into lover for you by night,
Out there to please you this is your right,
When the family is done ill with a cold,
  Nursemaid is a part-time thing i'm told.

Even when i sleep i am on nightly call,
For the children may wake up and fall,
I have now finished my daily duties,
But I do love my sleeping beauties.

Tomorrow is another day in the making,
Doing everything again there's no mistaking.
Some of us women have outside jobs too,
That's when we ask for help from you.

In Islam we have split equality for life,
No difference between husband or wife,
So have a go at reversing the role,
There is equality with us make it your goal.
